Highlights of the AZAD 2008 Interim Board Meeting Scottsbluff, Nebraska

The AZAD Executive Board arrived in Scottsbluff, NE
for the Interim Meeting on 28 February 2008 with a full agenda for their
meeting on Friday 29 February. The
following is an overview of some of the issues discussed and actions taken by
the Board at their meeting.
- Eighty-nine
letters were sent to Zoos and Aquariums, who were not currently members of
AZAD. The lists were compiled by
the committee members of the Membership and Public Relations committees.
- New
AZAD pins have been purchased to replenish the stock. There is no change
to the design.
- Discussed
plans for the future conferences: Two regional conferences for 2009. One
at the Phoenix Zoo and the other at Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium in
conjunction with the National Aviary.
The second regional will also have the delegates meeting. We also have two national conferences
coming up one at Brookfield Zoo in 2010 and the other at Memphis Zoo 2011
- The
board set their meeting schedule for the 2008 Business Meeting.
- Met
with core committee members from Riverside Zoo for the 2008 Business
Meeting.
