Future Regional AZAD Conferences

Regional conferences are a mini annual conference packed into a weekend. Hear an array of presentations, visit the host institution, and get to know more of your fellow AZAD members. A quick way to recharge your volunteer spirit!

Regional conferences are usually weekend events beginning on Friday.  Sometimes an optional pre-trip is planned during the day, followed by the required icebreaker in the evening.  Saturday usually begins with paper presentations followed by visiting the host institution later that day.  Paper presentations or workshops resume Sunday morning and conclude early afternoon.

Come early! Stay longer! Visit some of Arizona’s many sights – including the Phoenix Zoo, Arizona’s second largest visitor attraction – second only to the Grand Canyon. It will be a great vacation that will nicely warm you after a cold and/or wet winter!

Have you seen the desert’s spring colors? Imagine all the cacti in bloom – yellow, pink, coral, and orange Prickly Pears; red Native Hedgehog; white night blooms of the Saguaro; and so much more – the beauty of our desert is alive in April. Of course, there is much more to the “Valley of the Sun” – golf, museums and historical sights, gardens, fabulous restaurants, etc., etc. To help you plan your Phoenix, Arizona, vacation, visit www.visitphoenix.com; http://azhighways.com; and www.arizonaguide.com.

April is a fantastic time for “sharing our environment” with you – and for The Phoenix Zoo to host an AZAD Regional Conference. Join us as we share information regarding programs that promote “sharing our environment” with the natural world, wherever we live.

The luxurious Mission Palms Resort in Tempe lends to a restful vacation, as do the Pre-Conference trips to the Desert Botanical Garden and Pueblo Grande (local historical ruins).

Come early – Stay longer! We look forward to “Sharing Our Environment” with you – at the “Valley of the Sun,” Phoenix Arizona!
